01 Information stored on your device
The Game saves a small amount of data on your device so it can remember things between sessions. This includes your high scores, your sound and other settings, and your privacy choices. This data stays on your device. We cannot see it, and it is removed if you delete the App.
02 Advertising
Orbit Dodge is free to play and is supported by ads. We use Google AdMob, along with Google's advertising partners, to show banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads inside the Game.
To show ads, these services may automatically collect and process certain information, such as:
- Your device's advertising identifier;
- Your IP address and general location based on it;
- Your device type, operating system, and language;
- How you interact with ads.
This information is used to serve, measure, and improve ads. We do not receive or store this information ourselves. It is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, which you can read at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
03 Analytics and crash reports
To understand how the Game is played and to find and fix bugs, the Game sends usage and crash information to PostHog, an analytics service. This includes:
- Which screens you open and in-game actions, such as starting or ending a run, choosing a mode, changing a setting, or watching a rewarded ad;
- Crash and error reports, with technical details of what went wrong;
- Your device model, operating system and version, app version, and language;
- A random ID that the Game creates on your device, so we can count players without knowing who they are.
We do not send your name, email, contacts, advertising identifier, or precise location to PostHog, and we have set PostHog not to store your IP address. This information is not linked to your identity, and it is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps and websites. We use it because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the Game working well and making it better.
PostHog stores this information on servers in the European Union and processes it only on our behalf. You can read PostHog's privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.
04 Personalized ads and your consent
Depending on where you live, when you first open the Game you may see a consent message asking whether you agree to personalized ads. This message is provided through Google's consent tools. You can accept or decline.
If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. You can change your choice at any time from the settings screen inside the Game, where a privacy options link appears when it applies to your region.
05 Your choices and controls
You have control over ad tracking through your device settings:
- Android: Open Settings, then Google, then Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads.
- iOS: Open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Tracking, where you can control whether apps may ask to track you.
You can also clear all locally stored game data at any time by deleting the App.
06 Children's privacy
Orbit Dodge is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Where required, ads shown to users we understand to be children are limited to non-personalized ads.
07 Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties except for the advertising services and the analytics service (PostHog) described above. The advertising services operate under their own privacy policies. PostHog processes analytics and crash information only on our behalf.
08 Data retention
Game data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Information processed by our advertising partners is retained according to their own policies. Analytics and crash information is kept by PostHog only for as long as it helps us understand and improve the Game.
09 Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information. Your game data stays on your own device, so the main protection for it is the security of your device itself. Analytics and crash information is sent over an encrypted connection and stored by PostHog.
10 International users
The Game is available in many countries. Advertising partners may process information in countries other than your own. By playing, you understand that information handled by these partners may be processed in line with their privacy policies. Analytics and crash information is stored by PostHog on servers in the European Union.
11 Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California. These can include the right to access, correct, or delete information, and the right to object to certain processing.
We do not collect your name, email, or other contact details. The analytics information we hold is linked only to a random ID created on your device, not to you, so in most cases we cannot tell which records are yours. Most requests of this kind relate to the advertising partners. You can use many of these controls directly through the device and consent settings described above, and you may also contact us using the details below.
12 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
