Longdog is a daily number path puzzle game published by o9tech. This page explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed, so it is short.
o9tech publishes Longdog on the Apple App Store and Google Play. For any question about this policy or the app, use the contact form at o9tech.com/#contact. A person reads every message.
Longdog has no sign-in and no account of its own. Your puzzles, streak, streak bones, collars, settings and purchases are stored only on your device. We do not run any server of our own that receives your game data. If you delete the app, that data is gone.
If you turn on daily reminders, the app schedules them on your device with your phone's own notification system. Choosing when to remind you uses the times you usually solve your first puzzle of the day, and those times stay on your device. Nothing about reminders is sent to us or anyone else. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in your phone's settings.
Leaderboards are off until you tap Leaderboards in the app and sign in. On iPhone they use Apple's Game Center; on Android they use Google Play Games. After you sign in, the app sends these scores to that service: your longest streak, how many puzzles you have solved, and your fastest time for each puzzle size. The service shows them with your Game Center or Play Games name to other players. Apple or Google handle this data under their own policies (Apple, Google); we do not receive it on any server of ours. To stop, sign out of Game Center or Google Play Games, or manage your data in their settings.
If Longdog crashes or hits an error, it sends a short crash report so we can fix the problem. We use PostHog, a service hosted in the European Union, to receive these reports. A crash report contains the error message and where in the app's code it happened, the app version, your device model, your operating system version and a random ID created when the app is installed. It does not contain your name, your puzzles, your advertising identifier or anything you type, and PostHog does not store your IP address. We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs, never for advertising or to track you.
Longdog also sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, so we can see which parts of the game people use and where they get stuck. These are short records of things that happen in the game, such as starting or solving a puzzle (with its size and time), using a hint, earning a streak bone, choosing a collar, opening the shop or watching an ad. Each record carries the same random ID, the app version, your device model and your operating system version. Usage statistics never include your name, your advertising identifier or your Game Center or Play Games name, and PostHog does not store your IP address. We use them only to improve the game, never for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps. You can read about PostHog in the PostHog privacy policy.
The free version of Longdog shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob software inside the app collects:
This data is shared with Google and is encrypted in transit. Google describes its own handling of this data in the Google Privacy Policy and its explanation of how it uses information from apps that use its services. We do not receive this data ourselves.
On iOS, Longdog asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you say no, ads still appear but are not personalized using your identifier, and the game works exactly the same.
If you buy Remove Ads on iOS, or use a temporary ad free reward on Android, the app stops requesting ads for that period.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before requesting any ad. You can change your choice at any time from Settings, Manage consent. Declining personalized ads never blocks any part of the game.
We do not sell your personal information. Where a state privacy law gives you the right to opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, you can exercise it through your device settings (on iOS, Tracking; on Android, Ads) and the app's consent settings. Google AdMob supports restricted data processing for these requests.
In-app purchases are available on iOS only and are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Your purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored from Settings, Restore Purchases.
Longdog is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will help.
If an ad in Longdog seems inappropriate, tap Settings, Report an ad, or contact us with a screenshot and the approximate time. We will pass it to Google and block the category where we can.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new version is published at this address before it takes effect.
